Logistical services

The Faculty of Law has several logistical services to aid in executing the policy decisions of both the university and the faculty and to support in the education and research at the faculty.

Office of the Dean

  • performs preparatory policy activities, such as calculating the education duties per department;
  • executes the decisions made by the university board and the Faculty Council, the highest policy organ of the faculty;
  • publishes the minutes of the Faculty Council and other committees of the faculty (only active within the Faculty of Law);
  • is charged with the day-to-day operations of the faculty;
  • controls all auditoria located in the complex 'Aula-Universiteitstraat-Paddenhoek';
  • draws up the lecture schedules for all faculty programmes;
  • organises the festive proclamations for final year students.

Faculty Student Administration (FSA)

  • registers students for all their courses;
  • answers questions relating to educational matters;
  • draws up the examination schedules for all faculty porgrammes.

Computer Centre Law

  • manages the computer room of the faculty, located on the first floor of Paddenhoek no. 3;
  • controls the faculty intranet;
  • offers technical support to the departments and the other logistical services both for computer hardware and software.

Quality Control Unit for Education (KCO)

  • monitors the quality of the education programmes, among others by way of student education evaluations;
  • advises the education committees when changes to the education programmes are proposed;
  • organises the monitorat, which provides educational support for first-year students.

International Relations Office (IRO)

Library

  • collects and displays the publications within the fields of 'law, 'criminological sciences' and 'notary public';
  • offers various legal sources online to the students.

Gandaius Continuing Education (GPV)

  • is the institute for continuing education of the Faculty of Law;
  • organises colloquia, study days and study series (eg. Cycle Willy Delva);
  • offers administrative support to departments and/or academic staff when organising a colloquium.
