RESEARCH
Research within the Faculty of Law is grouped in the various departments. Most, if not all, departments are further divided into institutes and/or research groups. Whereas institutes are official entities recognized as such by the University Board, research groups can be formed on an ad hoc basis by the academic staff.
The professors are aided in their research activities by doctor assistants (who have already obtained the title 'doctor in law'), assistant professors (who are currently working on their doctoral thesis) and practical assistant professors (who are also working part-time in the private sector).
The Faculty of Law regularly receives information regarding academic / scientific prizes
and lists these on a separate page of its website.
All information regarding research and study grants is also published on its
own web page.
The Faculty of Law co-founded the 'Legal Research Network' in 2008, which organizes an annual conference where the academic staff of all member universities can 'present international oriented legal research papers in a friendly and stimulating research environment'.
