The 19th European Forum of Young Legal Historians will be organized for the first time by two cities in two different countries. Despite their difference in language (French - Dutch) and nationality (French - Belgian), Lille and Ghent share the same history in the county of Flanders.

This year's theme is '(Wo)Men in Legal History'. This broad subject allows to think about women and men in legal history from various scientific angles. The gender concept has become essential in human and social sciences, providing another way of analysing and interpreting society. Masculinity and femininity can thus be seen as a social construction based on biological sex.

You can find the programme and some practical information online.
