Please refer to different application deadlines mentioned below for EU/EEA citizen students, non EU/EEA citizen students and students holding a Belgian diploma. Please note that you are encouraged to start the application procedure as early as possible - even if you do not possess your diploma (if you are a student with expected graduation date before the beginning of next academic year) or English Proficiency certificate yet! 1st of July for EU/EEA citizen students.

Important information for Chinese students: Modified visa procedure

All students from the P.R. China have to obtain a certificate of academic screening issued by the Academic Evaluation Centre (APS) of the German Embassy in Beijing as a requirement for admission to a Flemish institution of higher education and in order to obtain a Belgian student visa. The screening should involve a review of documents and an interview. For further information, see the website of APS ( or of the Belgian embassy in Beijing ( or of the Belgian Consulate-General (Shanghai) (

We advise students who wish to be admitted to the LLM programme to contact APS as soon as possible at in order to make the necessary appointments. Please enquire about the cities where interviews are held.
The APS certificate is one of the requirements for applying for a visa. You should therefore contact APS prior to applying for a visa.
The APS application form and further practical information can be found at the APS website (

All new incoming application packages must include the APS certificate. Any decision relating to your admission to the programme is of course subject to your obtaining a Belgian student visa in due course.
