Johan Erauw is professor of law at the University of Ghent, teaching private international law, international procedure and arbitration. He is visiting professor at American University (Washington D.C.) where he teaches international licensing agreements. He is active in international commercial arbitration as lawyer and arbitrator. He practiced business law as corporate legal counsel. He has been active in licensing technology of the Ghent University for over twenty-five years. He has advised UNCITRAL and the International Trade Center (UNIDO/WTO) as an expert and was appointed as commissioner by the Belgian Minister of Justice and as expert by the Senate and House for the successful project of the codification of private international law of Belgium. He has published about twenty books and one hundred and forty-five articles in law reviews. He is a former member of the university’s Board of Trustees and Management Board and is a member of the Institut de Droit International and of the American Law Institute. |
