Objectives: 

This course intends to provide an overview of the legislation and regulation that govern the transport activity in the respective transport modes (sea, inland navigation, road, rail, air and multimodal) of goods as well as of passengers.

Contents: 

The course encompasses both the public and the private transport law.

Public transport law relates to the licensing of the transport operator, his access to the profession and to the market and to pricing, with a special emphasis on the European transport policy.

Private transport law concerns the contract of carriage, in other words the carrier liability regime according to the Warsaw Convention, the Hague-Visby Rules, the CMR Treaty, etc.

Finally also the transport documents are studied, such as the Bill of Lading, the Air Waybill, the Charter Party etc.
