Dutch language courses at the Faculty of Law
By law all courses in the undergraduate programmes of the Faculty must be taught in Dutch. This means that if an Erasmus student wishes to follow one of our undergraduate courses he/she must do so in Dutch. Asking the lecturer for a special assignment (paper, other course material, etc.) is frowned upon. In fact, the faculty policy does not allow this practice.
Fortunately the Language Centre of our university offers Dutch courses for Erasmus students at regular intervals and at a reduced price. For further information please consult https://www.ugent.be/en/teaching/internationalisation/docs/language.htm
A complete list of the courses taught at the faculty can be consulted in the Course Catalogue of our university (see 'Study Guide UGent').
However, the faculty has 3 English taught Master programmes. A limited number of Erasmus/exchange students can be admitted to each of these courses. For detailed information on this possibility, please see General info
COURSE SCHEDULES:
For the English courses from the Master programmes which are
open to Erasmus/exchange students, as well as the courses designed specifically for
Erasmus/exchange students, the
course schedule will be made available at
http://www.law.ugent.be/student/lesrostr/index.html before the beginning of the academic year.
If however you want to know when a particular course in Dutch is given (day and hour) in
any other year, first
find out in which year it is taught and then click the Course
Schedule of that particular year.
