Enrico Benedetto Cossidente is preparing a doctoral dissertation on the role of international law in regulating and tackling disinformation. He commenced his doctoral studies at Ghent University in September 2020 under the supervision of Professor Tom Ruys.
Enrico has a research interest in public international law, international humanitarian law and human rights law.
Enrico is an Army Officer and currently serves as a Staff Officer and Legal Advisor at the Legal Affairs Office of the Italian Defence General Staff in Rome. Previously to this appointment he worked as a legal advisor for the Italian Army and NATO. He has also been deployed abroad. His last deployment was in Kabul as the deputy chief of the ISAF mission rule of the law office. This unit was supporting the Afghan Ministry of Justice in coordination with the international community (UNDP, ICRC, embassies of NATO and non-NATO Countries).
Enrico holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Sciences from the University of Turin, a Master’s degree in Law from the University Guglielmo Marconi and a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Humanitarian Law from the University of Turin.
