Diederik Bruloot is a professor of business law and international economic law at Ghent University (since 2014). He obtained his law degree at Ghent University in July 2005 (summa cum laude) and became a research assistant at the Ghent Financial Law Institute immediately afterwards. In June 2012 he successfully defended his PhD thesis regarding creditor protection in European company law.
In 2013 he was a visiting researcher at the University of Oxford.
Diederik teaches a course on international economic law as well as several courses on business law. During the last years he published on a broad range of topics within the fields of company law, (international) business law and consumer law.
His current research focusses on the legal aspects of corporate finance and the interplay between international economic law and domestic company and financial law.
Diederik is a member of the Financial Law Institute (2005), of the Belgian National Centre for Company Law (2014) and of the Interuniversity Centre for Consumer Law (2014). He is a guest lecturer at the Antwerp Management School.
