Expertise: International administrative law and the institutional framework of international organisations

Dr. Frederick De Cock completed his Master’s degree in Law at Hasselt University in June 2017 whilst working at the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (Eurocontrol). Hereafter he immediately started working on his PhD at the same university performing research on the legal status of employees working for international organisations from a social law perspective.
In December 2020 Frederick successfully defended his PhD on the legal protection of employees working for international organisations under jurisdiction of the Administrative Tribunal of the International Labour Organisation (ILOAT). He mainly focussed on the internal means of redress of various international organisations as well as the procedures before this tribunal.
From 2019 until 2020 he was a committee member of the European Law Commission of the Bar Association of Flanders. He is currently a member of the ‘Belgian Society for International Law’ (including the Belgian Network of Junior Researchers in International Law) and of the ‘Belgian Society for Labour and Social Security Law’. He obtained his qualification as an attorney-at-law at the Bar of Limburg in February 2021.
Frederick is particularly interested in international administrative law and the institutional framework of international organisations. He closely follows up on the case law of international administrative tribunals.
By joining GRILI he is committed to pursuing further research in these areas.
