ZUZANNA GULCZYŃSKA

Zuzanna Gulczyńska is a doctoral researcher and an FWO fellow. Her PhD research project focuses on the application of EU data protection rules and standards to international organisations. The project is carried out under the supervision of Prof. dr. Inge Govaere. Zuzanna also acts as a volunteer coach for the European Law Moot Court team at Ghent University.

Before she started her doctoral thesis, Zuzanna obtained a Maîtrise degree from Lille 2 University in France, a Master’s degree from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poland and an LL.M. in European Law from the College of Europe in Belgium. Throughout her education she participated in numerous moot courts, including the European Law Moot Court and Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court. After her studies, Zuzanna interned at the European Commission’s Legal Service and worked as an academic assistant at the College of Europe.

Zuzanna’s research interests focus on European constitutional and institutional law as well as the interplay between European and international law. As regards substantive law, she is interested in the international and EU fundamental rights, in particular the right to privacy and data protection.
