Publication of the Cambridge Handbook of Secondary Sanctions and International Law
The Cambridge Handbook of Secondary Sanctions and International Law has been published. Edited by GRILI members Professor Tom Ruys and PhD Researcher Felipe Rodríguez Silvestre, in collaboration with Professor Cedric Ryngaert from Utrecht University, this comprehensive volume explores the legality of secondary sanctions from diverse legal perspectives, including general international law, international economic law, and private law. The handbook delves into legal strategies available to third states and private operators to counter secondary sanctions, such as through blocking legislation or litigation. Additionally, it offers valuable economic and political insights into the broader implications of secondary sanctions.
