Dr. Qin He
He Qin graduated at the China University of Geosciences (Bachelor of Law) in 2005 and at Wuhan University (Master of Environmental and Resources Protection Law) in 2009.
From October 2009 to June 2014, Qin conducted her Ph.D. research at the Department of Public International Law / Maritime Institute, Ghent University, Belgium. She received a four years’ doctoral scholarship from the China Scholarship Council and a co-funding from Ghent University, working on “Combating Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing: A Comparative Study between European and Chinese Law”. During her Ph.D. study, Qin performed an internship at the Legal Department of International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg, Germany.
After Qin obtained her Ph.D. in Law, she joined the Southwest University of Political Science and Law (SWUPL), Chongqing, China, where she is lecturer at the School of International Law and the Secretary-General of Research Institute of Oceans and Natural Resources Law. Her main field of research is public international law, law of the sea and natural resources law. She is also supervisor of post-graduate students from ASEAN countries at SWUPL.
