Kristien Ballegeer

Kristien Ballegeer

Kristien Ballegeer has studied Applied Communications and has worked both in the public as the private sector.

After jobs at an Erasmus coordination office and in the faculty of Law at Kulak, Kortrijk, she has worked at an architect's bureau for six years as a managing assistant. In 2000, Kristien joined Ghent University, where she has worked at the international Nematology programme at the faculty of Sciences. In 2006 she moved to the faculty of  Law where she joined the department of Public International Law after a two-year appointment at the Social Law Department.

Kristien is responsible for finances, conferences, project administration and allround coordination of the department and the Maritime Institute.

In 2019-2020 Kristien has obtained the Postgraduate in Port Management at the UGent Maritime Institute (now Gandaius Academy).
