Eline Brion
Eline Brion graduated as Master in Law (magna cum laude) at Ghent University in 2023. During her master education, she specialized herself in international and European environmental law, showing particular interest in themes such as the climate and biodiversity crisis, nature restoration and sustainability. She wrote her master thesis about forest resilience in times of climate change and biodiversity loss, wherefore she analyzed the international and European environmental law on this point.
During her study she followed an extracurricular course about nature restoration, wherefore she obtained a separate certificate. Further during her study she was one year active as a student representative for the Faculty Sustainability Committee at Ghent University and also became a member of the National Council for Sustainable Development (NCSD).
In November 2023 she started as a scientific researcher for the Department of European, Public and International Law at Ghent University, where she is working nowadays on a two-year project about the multi-use and re-use of offshore wind energy in the North Sea. Therefore she will mainly study the Belgian legal framework focusing on Belgian energy law, maritime law and public law on the one hand and the relevant international and European law framework on the other hand.
